Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Leadership Circle NYC? For the first time, we’re opening our programming and our space to the general public. For years, NFBLME has been a space where male educators of color build, reflect, and grow together, often behind the scenes for fellows only. On May 2 in New York City, we’re doing something different. We’re inviting a small group of leaders into that space.
Who is this conference for? C-Level and Non-Profit Administrators, School leaders (Principals, APs, Deans), Educators navigating the transition into leadership, and Male educators of color seeking community and clarity.
How is this different from a typical education conference? This isn’t just sit-and-get PD. The conference is intentionally designed to be relational, reflective, and real—combining practical learning with cultural affirmation and authentic connection. You’ll engage in meaningful dialogue with educators who understand the lived realities of the work.
What topics will be covered? Sessions will focus on leadership development, representation, culturally responsive practice, wellness, and sustaining yourself in the work.
What will I leave with? You’ll walk away with actionable strategies you can use immediately, renewed energy for the work, and a stronger sense of belonging and purpose. Expect practical tools, fresh perspective, and relationships that extend beyond the day.
Why is representation and community a focus of this conference? When students see educators who reflect their identities and experiences, expectations rise and possibilities expand. This conference invests in male educators of color as both role models and catalysts for stronger outcomes and healthier school communities.
Is this conference only for male educators of color? The conference centers on the lived experiences of male educators of color, but it is open to allies and friends of the mission who are committed to building more equitable, affirming school environments for all students.
What is included with registration? Registration includes access to all sessions, and community experiences throughout the day, as well as light refreshments. Executive VIP comes with an exclusive networking breakfast. (Travel and lodging are not included.)
What is the dress code? Business casual and comfortable. Come ready to learn, connect, and move between sessions with ease.
Who do I contact with questions? For any questions about registration, logistics, or the experience, please contact Dumar Paden (dumarpaden@nfblme.org).
Can I invite someone else? Absolutely. If you know a male educator of color who would benefit from this space, forward this to them and invite them to join you.

How much does it costs? Our general admissions ticket is $150 and Executive VIP is $300. Typically, our fellows and their organizations invest approx. 2K for an executive weekend. We are offering our strongest content and experiences for 1 day. Think of this as an investment into your leadership and career.
