What is Alumni Weekend? The NFBLME Alumni Weekend is a signature annual gathering that brings together alumni from across the country for a powerful experience centered on connection, celebration, and continued leadership growth. It’s a space to reflect on impact, strengthen brotherhood, and recharge for the work ahead.

Who should attend Alumni Weekend? This event is designed for NFBLME alumni across all cohorts and leadership pathways. Select sessions and celebrations may also include special guests, partners, and invited supporters of the Fellowship.

What can I expect during the weekend? Alumni Weekend includes a mix of:

• Leadership reflections and future vision-setting

• Alumni recognition and induction ceremonies

• Networking and community-building experiences

• Special guest speakers and fellowship updates

• Social events and celebrations

What makes Alumni Weekend different from other NFBLME events? Alumni Weekend is uniquely focused on celebration, reflection, and legacy. While other events emphasize development and training, this weekend centers the impact of alumni and the continued growth of the brotherhood.​

What are the key highlights of the weekend? Key moments often include:

• The Rose Ceremony and Alumni Induction

• The State of the Fellowship

• Guest keynote speakers and award presentations

• Leadership Council gatherings

• Signature social experiences and celebration events

Is this event invite-only? Yes. Alumni Weekend is a curated, invite-only experience to ensure meaningful conversations, aligned values, and a high-trust environment among participants.

 

Is there a cost to attend? Yes, there is typically a registration fee to attend Alumni Weekend. Registration includes access to all sessions, curated experiences, materials, and community-building gatherings throughout the weekend. Pricing details and what’s included (meals, events, materials, travel, etc.) are outlined during registration. We don’t expect you to carry this investment alone—many fellows use professional development funds or receive support from their organizations, because when you invest in your leadership, the return shows up in your schools and students. Maybe they’ll cover 25%, 50% or even all of it if you can make the case about how this is connected to your PD goals and the skills you’ll gain.

 

Are travel and accommodations included? Travel and lodging are typically not included unless otherwise specified. Attendees are responsible for booking their own flights and hotel accommodations, though recommended options and group rates may be provided.

Where and when is Alumni Weekend taking place?  Alumni Weekend will take place May 29–30, at the legendary Garden City Hotel, 45 Seventh St, Garden City, NY 11530.

What is the dress code? “Dress To Impress Yourself”. Look good and feel good. Dress code is "elevated casual" for daytime sessions; relaxed, stylish attire for evenings.
