RISING LEADERS

NFBLME’s Rising Leader Fellowship is a one-year program designed to develop the next generation of Black and Latino male
leaders in education by building a strong leadership pipeline. The program targets teachers, teacher leaders, and entry-level school and network leaders, preparing them for roles such as deans, assistant principals, and directors. With two distinct pathways, the Instructional Cohort focuses on foundational leadership skills, while the Non-Instructional Cohort
(Ops/Finance/IT) emphasizes advanced leadership development and adaptive strategies. The program’s goal is to equip
emerging leaders with the tools and experience needed to make a lasting impact in education.

Elite, Differentiated & Holistic Coaching

According to The Center for Educational Statistics, while 48% of school-aged children are Black or Latino, only 13% of school principals are Black or Latino males. Additionally, a report by New Schools Venture reveals that just 25% of leadership teams in education are made up of Black or Latino, and only 17% of CEOs in the sector are Black or Latino. We believe this disparity is driven by a critical gap in leadership pipelines. Our program is dedicated to addressing this issue by empowering and developing a new generation of talented, well-trained, and highly skilled Black and Latino male leaders ready to shape the future of education.
