RISING LEADERS

NFBLME’s Rising Leader Cohort – Las Vegas is a one-year leadership experience designed to develop the next generation of elite Black and Latino male leaders by strengthening the local pipeline from classroom excellence to executive leadership. The program serves teachers, teacher leaders, deans, assistant principals, and early-career school and network leaders, preparing them for roles such as principal, director, and district-level leadership. In a city where more than 70% of students are students of color, yet leadership does not reflect the communities served , too many male educators of color are asked to manage culture rather than shape instruction or strategy. We believe this gap is not a talent issue—it is a development issue. Through elite coaching, structured advancement planning, and real-time, on-the-job leadership development, we work to accelerate growth and cut the traditional leadership timeline in half—from 20 years to 10 , making this cohort a critical bridge in our end-to-end Vegas pipeline.

Elite, Differentiated & Holistic
Coaching—Built for Las Vegas

Las Vegas has the talent—what it has lacked is infrastructure. Black and Latino male educators in Clark County are often over-relied upon for culture-building yet underinvested in as instructional and systems leaders . The Rising Leader Cohort provides the targeted coaching, leadership training, and sponsorship necessary to move from strong classroom practitioner to high-impact school leader. This pathway equips high-performing educators, deans, and assistant principals with the skills, mindsets, and habits to lead adults effectively, drive measurable student results, build high-performing teams, step confidently into the principalship and beyond, and stay rooted as transformational leaders in Las Vegas.

Designed to develop the next generation of Black and Latino male leaders, the program builds a strong leadership pipeline by preparing fellows for roles such as deans, assistant principals, directors, and operations leaders.

The Soul-Fulfilling Brotherhood

  1. Early leadership can feel uncertain and isolating. The Rising Leader Cohort builds a Las Vegas-based brotherhood of Black and Latino educators committed to supporting one another, sharing strategies, and growing together. This is more than a leadership program. It is a movement to make education a **destination profession** for male educators of color in Las Vegas.

Program Cost: $5,000 (However, thanks to the generosity of O180 - our 2026 Cohort is fully funded. There is no out-of-pocket cost to our Fellows)
