About the Event

On Saturday, March 28, Nevada steps into history as the first-ever Nevada Male Educators of Color Conference brings educators from across the state together at Nevada State University for a day grounded in one core goal: stronger outcomes for students. Built for teachers, coaches, support staff, and school, district, and aspiring leaders, this convening focuses on the skills, mindsets, and leadership habits that help educators drive eye-popping results in the classroom while building healthy, high-performing school communities. At the same time, it affirms the importance of representation—because when students see educators who reflect their identities and experiences, expectations rise and possibilities expand. Through practical workshops, leadership conversations, and community connection, participants will strengthen their instructional practice, expand their leadership capacity, and connect to opportunities that move them—and their students—forward. This inaugural conference marks the beginning of a statewide effort to invest in male educators of color as catalysts for both representation and results. The conference is open to male educators of color as well as friends of the Fellowship and allies who believe in this mission and want to help build stronger schools for Nevada’s students. If you know a male educator of color who would be interested in attending-forward this to them.

Why Attend Our NMEC Conference

At the Nevada Male Educator of Color Conference, you will:

  • Experience belonging in a space built for you: This is a rare, affirming environment centered on the lived experiences of Black and Latino male educators—rooted in brotherhood and shared purpose.

  • Recharge without stepping away from impact: Reflection, wellness, and joy are treated as essential to leadership—not optional extras.

  • Strengthen your leadership practice: Engage in workshops grounded in Nevada’s performance framework, emotional intelligence, instructional excellence, and career growth.

  • Connect across roles and regions: Teachers, coaches, deans, principals, district leaders, ops staff, and aspiring leaders—learning with and from one another.

  • Be part of a movement, not just a moment: This inaugural convening marks the beginning of a statewide effort to retain, elevate, and invest in male educators of color as catalysts for change.

This isn’t just a conference. It’s a call forward—for leadership rooted in purpose, wellness, and collective impact.
